I'm delighted to report that The Center for Photography at Woodstock recently acquired a 30"X40" (ed. of 9) of Plates no. 3 for its public collection. Thanks very much to Ariel Shanberg and Julie Grahame.

Crusade for Art CSA

I am participating in Jennifer Schwartz's new CSA program, in which collectors can buy a $350 share (of 50) and receive signed, editioned prints (also in editions of 50) from me and five other photographers. They're all great, and I happen to be big fans of a few of them, namely Shane Lavalette, Jennifer Greenberg and Kerry Mansfield.

The shares went on sale today and apparently they're already more than half sold. Act fast!

My shoot is imminent

I'm in the late planning stages here. Installation in Novato, CA starts Friday. We shoot Saturday. I think I have everything I need, except for the lightweight fence posts, the tent stakes and a few buckets of sunscreen. Also I'll require wind. Gusts around 15 mph please.

"The National" at The Fort Wayne Museum of Art

Winning may be everything, but I couldn't be in better company down there in the "Juror's Merit Award" category of this photography show/competition at The Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Indiana, running now to June 15, 2014. I'd been admiring Marcus DeSieno's microscopic portraits just recently, as he and I are also in this show, but Scott Dalton's very powerful documentary work is new to me (documentary photography know-nothing that I am), as are Annie Laurie Erickson's ghostly, nighttime images of Louisiana oil refineries, which she shoots, furtively, with a mysterious device she calls an "afterimaging camera."
